Did your New Year's resolutions include the promise to explore strange, new worlds? Are you chomping at the bit to seek out new life and civilizations? Do you want to boldly go where no person has gone before?

If you have an urge to explore, a visit to the St. Louis Science Center's Star Trek: The Exhibition is in order. After your adventure in the "big sky," take the helm of your own USS Enterprise, and trek to Big Sky Café for dinner with your crew ... er, family.

A stellar starter is the salad of roasted golden and red beets with field greens. The sweet and beautiful beets are punctuated with Heartland Creamery goat cheese and further accentuated with crunch from the almonds. Apricot vinaigrette brings everything together.

For the main course, go for a shining star on the menu: the Dijon-braised Heritage Acres pork shoulder. The slightly sweet flavor from the Schwartz Farm apple cider is balanced with red onion and garlic. Sending this dish into outer space are the roasted Brussels sprouts, a blissful treat for those who love them and a terrific introduction to this underrated vegetable for those who have yet to discover it.
